Our client was in the process of revamping and building houses for faculty staff, and gave us a briefing which included sourcing comfortable and durable furniture pieces that will cater to the school; they should be modern and contain ‘Nelson Mandela’ inspired features.
The spaces needed to be diverse and affordable. The spaces included four three-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom apartments, eight one-bedroom apartments. Additionaly, there were four common rooms and six landing areas, two medical office rooms and a staff meeting dining room.
First off, we sourced furniture that would handle high-traffic areas and that would still fit a comfortable style for any family or student that would move into the space and make use of all facilities. We insured that the style of each apartment contained different elements reflecting the ‘Nelson Mandela’ inspired theme. This also carried through to the student common rooms and landing areas; from the curtaining and style of the lounge, dining rooms and bedrooms to the kitchen accessories and finishes.
